The Pilates Workshop – What do you think?

The Pilates Workshop was founded in 2009 with a desire to bring the benefits of the ‘Body Control’ standard of pilates teaching to the wider public. We wanted to create a community of elite teachers, who worked together, supporting each other to build a recognizable and respected brand, all sharing in the benefits of a brand synonymous with quality and professionalism. A network where BCP teachers come together to share knowledge and experience, helping each other so that customers experience the best possible Pilates tuition from the best Body Control teachers.

The Pilates Workshop already has an established network of BCP teachers, currently covering the three counties; Herts, Beds and Bucks, with over 300 clients collectively. The Pilates Workshop brand is already gaining positive feedback through clients, teachers and the medical profession, particularly in the South Beds and Herts area.

My partner and I started pilates classes with Shelley Smith over 8 years ago following recommendation from our physiotherapist. We have both experienced back and neck problems and were keen to find something to help remedy these debilitating conditions. In the past we have slipped out of the habit of regular classes and have paid the price, with Geoff’s back problem returning shortly after. We are sure that pilates is responsible for maintaining a strong and healthy body and a necessary preventative.

We both get a lot out of our classes with Shelley. Over the years we have participated in private and group matwork classes as well as private machine classes. Shelley is a fantastic teacher, attentive, supportive and encouraging – she always strives to deliver varied, progressive and interesting classes, and we find her fantastic value. Thanks Shelley!!

I have been doing pilates for a year now following a recommendation from my physiotherapist. When i first started i was still having problems with my back and found some classes very hard, but i stuck to my classses (once a week) and slowly i felt myself and my back getting stronger and stronger and if i miss a class i can really feel it ! My teacher Sue Pickering is fantastic, she always takes time to make sure i’m looking after my back and has given me confidence to do things i never thought i could. I have no doubt that my back would still be very bad if i had not started pilates.

We had a fantastic class on wednesday and my back feels so good because of it ! A massive thank you Sue you are fab xx
